Post Body

Hey, y’all! So, I’ve lived in my house for about 6 years. My house was built in 1890, and it went through a fire. To my knowledge, no one was harmed in the fire, and nothing negative has ever happened here.

Two years ago or so, my husband woke up to the sight of one of our kids standing on the staircase. (For reference, you can see the staircase from our master bedroom.) He called out to him (we assumed it was our son who had woken up sick), and our kiddo turned around and walked back upstairs. My husband jumped out of bed and ran after him to check on him, and when he got upstairs, both of our kids were asleep in bed.

On another occasion, I was cleaning in our bedroom and heard our daughter in the hallway. My dog was excited, tail wagging, excited to say “good morning”. I could see her feet moving under the door, so I pulled the door open to let our dog out. Our daughter wasn’t there, and our dog backed up against my legs and wouldn’t go into the hallway.

Those are the only two occasions of “seeing” things, but I’ve had a few other instances of hearing the kids talking or moving around upstairs when they aren’t actually home. The noises/walking sounds I’ve always attributed to our old house. She’s an old Victorian, and she creaks and heaves and rattles all the time. Doors don’t hang right... the works.

I’ve never felt scared or threatened... more so just the general, “hmmm, that was really weird” feeling.

What do y’all think? Am I imagining things? Coincidence? Logical explanation?
