One day last summer, a friend of mine and I decided to go to the crash site where Buddy Holly died. It was an emotional spot for the two of us, but I never felt anything like a ghost or spirit. So because of that terrible disappointment, we decided to head to another haunted location here in Northern Iowa. We went to Nora Springs. It was a nice little town, at least from what I saw, only been there once. We found out there was a train bridge not to far out of town that was said to be haunted. Now this was at the time I started to no longer be scared of things like this.

We found the bridge and since it was still daytime, we decided to force some activity, or at least I did. I found a way up on to the bridge. It was a very risky choice. There was some loose ground on the side of a steep hill, which meant I could have died, gladly I didn't.

When I got on the bridge, I felt a bit uneasy, like someone was watching me from right behind me. I walked to the rail on the side my friend was on. When I got there, I felt something touch my back. I turned and saw nothing. I turned back to my friend, and out of the corner of my eye, I saw a shadow. I blinked and heard a whisper. "Help."

"Fuck this shit, I'm out," I sang. I ran down the hill next to the rail, hopped into my friends car, and told him to leave.

That night, I had a dream at the bridge of a suicide, I was able to see someone very clearly, a man. He was sad. He had a rope in hands, and started tying it to the rail. Then he started to tie it around his neck, he looked right at me and whispered "Help." He jumped over the railing and he cried a very loud and depressed cry. I woke up and saw a shadow in front of me. It disappeared quick. I wouldn't see it for a few weeks, not until I was at my grandma's.
