This is in northern Wisconsin, deer hunting is a way of life here. My deceased grandfather acquired the family farm shortly after his sister passed on. As a family, my uncle’s and grandpa decided to turn the house into deer camp for us since it was located on the property we hunt. The house was built in the year of 1900, needless to say my family built the place and surrounding barns. My family is of German heritage, my great great grandparents built it with the timber from the land when they bought the property after arriving to America. 2020 was the first year of camp, then it all started the first night. Settling in around the dinner table, my uncle came bursting through the front door. He was sweating profusely, pale in color freaking out. He said he had seen his grandfather out by the milking parlor. We said bs thinking he was just tired arriving late at night. I personally never had the chance to meet my great grandfather but I’ve heard stories and always seen photos of him. The windows in the house are old school single pane glass, has a peculiar wavy look to it. The same night while everyone was asleep I went to the kitchen to get a water and glanced out the window to the barn and I seen a face in the wavy window, it was my grandfathers face! My family has a superstition about the windows. If you see a face in the glass of a family member, they will die within the year. My grandfather passed away the following August. I never told anyone about that experience, I hold it to myself. To this day there still are experiences there that I cannot explain, I will share more in another post.
