I was roughly 10 or 11 years old when this happened. My best friend since I was like 3, his family inherited this house from an old lady who his Mom was caring for. They called her Grandma B, as of my knowledge she lived in that house for decades. A very large portion of her long life. It was a nice house, renovated somewhat recently before she passed. She died in the house while in the care of my friends mom.

Me and my friend really enjoyed playing Hide and Seek in the dark, was just a lot more fun. Never was scared of the dark or anticipating seeing anything, but I did the first weekend I stayed there when they moved in.

I wanna kind of describe the layout of the house here. You walk through the front door. Garage door is right to your left. The kitchen is to your right, the living room is right next to it. Open floor plan. You can see everything. You walk straight you would walk right through the door of the gaming room we would use at the time. If you took a left right before the gaming room you would be in the short but wide hall way that would turn right after a few feet.

So we’re a good 10 rounds into this game maybe. Nothing has happened. We’re just having fun. I’m counting face down on the couch facing the kitchen. I get up, turn around to face the gaming room/hall way, and immediately I see what I thought was my friend walk into the hall way. I saw him take multiple steps before disappearing into the hall way. Only me and him are awake. I was so sure of what I saw I was like “Timmy, c’mon man you gotta do better than that. I saw you go into the hallway, you had forever to hide.” I walk into the hall way to get him, and behind me the gaming room door opens, and he walks out of it.

I’ve had experiences in my life, but this is the only time I’m 99.9% sure I saw a ghost. It was a faded white silhouette, I saw every limb, mostly saw the back of the head, but I saw ears and nose. I was genuinely freaked out, but also it’s always offered me a sort of peace for what comes after you die.
