Gellens slave trade, how did you introduce this?

So, my party is still very early on the campaign but i have plans on revealing or having them find out about gellens slave trade operations. What are some ways you guys have introduced this hook. One of the party members is planning on trying to remove gellen from his place in the council and take it over as his backstory places him as a well known trade merchant/smuggler.
