Secure the Area / Crazy King / King of the Hill
This new game mode is a callback to “Crazy King” from the Halo series. In this game mode there is a single area that you have between 60-90 seconds to capture, and each second you were in the hill you gained one point. The hill would then move to a random location on the map and this process would repeat until a team reached a point limit, or the time ran out during play before a team could reach the max points. In Wildlands, you could implement the same type of game mode while maintaining the DBNO (Down but not out) system. Keep the same base gameplay by having the hill rotate after 60-90 seconds, and keep the cap time at 45 seconds (reduced by 5 seconds over time per teammate), but instead of having a point-per-second scoring system, make it a first to 3 captures wins. Anytime someone steps into the hill, the timer on the rotation of the hill stops and you begin to capture the point. If you succeed you gain one point, and if the hill isn’t captured in the allocated time, it moves on to a random location on the map, which would be a set amount of spawns but would randomly choose which location to go to next.
Summary of Secure the Area / Crazy King / KOTH:
- Hill capture time will be 45 seconds long (decreased by 5 seconds per teammate)
- Hill timer without interruption will be 60-90 seconds total
- First Hill will be placed in the center of the map
- Hill will be randomly placed after the first hill timer runs out or is captured
- Hills do not have to be captured
- Hill point timer stops when player begins capturing hill
- Capturing 3 points will win you a round
- Downing all opposing teammates will win you a round
- If two players on opposite teams enter the hill, the hill timer will stop until there’s a single team in the hill, and then begin to capture
