If somebody you don’t know asks you for the time on the street or somewhere where you are alone with them, DON’T look down at your watch. Raise the watch so that it is in your line of sight while keeping your line of sight level with the person’s. Often, if somebody random asks you for something or tells you something that would make you look somewhere else out of your line of sight, they may be trying to attack you from behind. It throws them off if you are maintaining eye-contact, as they did not prepare to attack you/kidnap you while you are looking at them.
This was explained on another thread but I can’t remember which one. They had an example along the lines of this: Suppose you are walking at night and somebody you don’t know walks up to you and asks you for the time. You should raise your watch to see it, keeping the person in direct line of sight. Lets suppose they then say to look at something behind you. You can say that you already saw it, but never let them leave your line of sight, it will throw them off and very possibly prevent you from being picked up. Stay safe.
