Revenue Assurance Analyst.
The interview will be competency based, which I am ok with. I am aware of the competencies, and I am using STAR to craft my answers.
There will be two people interviewing me, and the one leading the interview I happen to be very good friends with. She has given me tips about the questions I'm going to be asked on instant messenger whilst at work today, and the conversation was this:
JB [14:18]:
So I presume you're going to do some prep make sure it's logical thinking based - so rather than "tell me when you've delivered good customer service" think "give me an example of problem, how did you find it, what did you do, what was the end result, what would you do different"
JB [14:20]:
does that make sense?
KARMA_KUNT [14:20]:
Errrr, yeah sort of
JB [14:21]:
so like# ane xmaple of a question you won't be asked but may be asked as something similar How many petrol stations are in the UK? the answer doesn't need to be right but the way in which you may get to the answer is the important but bit a good example of answer would be "well, I have no idea. But to find out, I would see how many major cities there are in the UK, find out the population of those cities and what the car to person ratio average is through finding those answers, you could assume each major city with a population of say, 20,000 would need around 30 petrol stations make sense?
KARMA_KUNT [14:24]: Yeah, spoke with someone about this before actually Need to show that I have a business frame of mind by the sounds of it
JB [14:25]: yeah I guess with RA the actually end result is important, but not as important as the steps you take in order to get that outcome anyone can cost save and generate revenue - those who do it better are those who approach it in a concise manner
Is this something that I can learn, or practice in advance of the interview? Is there a secret method behind this, or something specifically that JB is looking for? I'm presuming I need to demonstrate an analytical mind or something.
Thanks in advance.
