I've seen a few people saying that they seem to be able to tolerate pizza better than comparable amounts of other carbs. Juuuust so you know, the "pizza effect" is apparently well-known to type 2 diabetics - basically, it seems the fat and protein in the toppings can delay the blood sugar spike from the carbs. If you google "pizza effect diabetes" you can find more info - there have even been studies on it! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it might be worth checking to see whether you're really tolerating it or whether you're getting a spike later.
