The "importance" (or not) of the 3 or 6 months probation period (Probezeit) at new job prior to applying for citizenship
Post Body

As things stand, I will be elligible to apply for German citizenship from February 2025. I am currently working full-time at a job (the same one I've had since I first began working in Germany in January 2020) which I plan to probably leave once I get Niederlassungserlaubnis (permanent residency) sometime this autumn although I have no idea when that might be.

Also, once I do leave my current job, there is no guarantee I will automatically find a new one nor is there any guarantee that I will have gone through the probation period prior to February 2025. Can the authorities refuse my citizenship application if I start a new job then apply for citizenship within a few weeks or 1 to 3 months after starting the new job? Can they tell me to come back and apply after my probation period passes?

P.S. If you're wondering why I'm not leaving the job now instead of waiting to do it later, it's because, if I were leave now, I wouldn't get permanent residency and would have to start that whole process from scratch after a probation period at my new job.
