I have a BA in German, though I was more of a reader/listener than speaker/writier. And then I learned another language and worked in that field for a few years, and the German just fell away. Now I have a kid and want to say everyday things in German. It's practice for me and great for little baby's tiny neurons. If I'm going to say something about a trillion times, I'd like it to be as close to correct/natural as possible.
Here are some phrases I say often and tried to translate. Please let me know if you have any you say to your Kinder, Nichten, Neffen, Nachbarn, usw.
Preferably not creepy, but, I mean, we are on reddit.
- Do you need a diaper change? - Brauchst du deine Windel geändert?
- Do you like these pajamas? - Wie gefällt dir diesen Schlafanzug?
- Are you too hot? - Ist dir zu heiß?
- Don't grab people's glasses. - Fasst nicht die Brille von Leute!
- You are so cute. - Du bist sehr süß?
- How can we see your friends if we don't ride in the car? (kid hates the carseat) - Wie können wir deine Freunde sehen, wenn wir in das Auto nicht fahren?
- Do you want to take a nap? - Willst du Schläfchen machen?
Thanks!
