āSince the 1990s The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela was governed by a socialist regime led by Hugo Chavez who once was one of the fastest growing and most stable economies in South America. However after Chavezās death and their policies not withstanding their government have sent the proud Venezuelan nation to destitution and ruin. It holds the worldās largest petroleum deposits but the Maduro government squanders its wealth for his own gain and his allied in Cuba and Nicaragua.
Brazil once were friends, perhaps even allies of the Venezuelan government but changes have happened in Brazil and South America. The collapse of the Venezuelan economy and society is a blight that radiates across South America, rampant inflation, starvation, economic inequality, crime and corruption are the norm in Venezuela all the while Maduroās government builds up its popular militias and armed forces to stay in power.
For the sake of Venezuelan democracy and South American stability as of May 18th 2024. Brazil formally cuts ties with Venezuela with ministers from the Itamary recalled from Caracas and a denunciation of the Maduro regime as a āVenezuelan Menaceā In the 2024 PROSUL conference. It is proposed for a multilateral closure of trade and an arms embargo on the Venezuelan regime in a bid to prevent Venezuela from continuing their military buildup.
