Kinshasa, April 15th of 2030.
Following the Central African United Grid Project and the CANTSO-E system, the DRC has noticed that now is the time to develop its own national power grid, both to provide further energy throughout the political bloc, and to provide energy to its own nation as it grows exponentially in an incredibly small period of time.
This is why the Congolese President, Moïse Katumbi, has decided to stand forward and declare a new grand electrical project, the Green Congo project, a massive development of the Congolese national system which should provide energy for the DRC in a very adequate quantity for a long period of time, bringing us to a major self-sufficiency in energy.
We will first begin by establishing the hydroelectric energy program, with the fancy acronym of EHpC or ”Énergie Hydroélectrique pour le Congo”, Hydroelectric Energy for the Congo; this one is a massive program, as detailed below:
Project | Cost | Duration |
---|---|---|
Bandundu Dam | US$12 bn | 4 years |
Ilebo Dam | US$10 bn | 3 years |
Kisenda Dam | US$5 bn | 29 months |
Isangi Dam | US$20 bn | 5 years |
Grand Inga Dam | US$120 bn | 11 years |
These projects are crucial for the DRC, as they represent a new step towards green energy and a reliance on renewable resources which will provide major international prestige; however, this is not limited to hydroelectrical resources, as the Congolese president has also remarked that US$70 bn of the Grand Inga megaproject will be financed by the DRC itself, while the remainder US$50 bn will be supplied by international investors.
Furthermore, the Congolese Ministry of National Economy has surprised the media by announcing a vast array of solar power projects, expected to be done in 2032; these projects are also another great step towards international prestige, with the development of green energy early on.
Location | Cost |

Lusambo | US$750 mn |
Inkisi | US$750 mn |
Kamina | US$750 mn |

To conclude this wave of expenditures, the DRC will also be beginning today the five-year unification of the power grid of CANTSO-E, and we will be doing that with a funding of US$4 bn for transmission lines and grid transfer structures, along with anything else that is necessary; this comes at a total distance of 10.050 miles.
President Moïse Katumbi has also done an important speech on the subject of renewable energy and the creation of CANTSO-E, as you can see below:
“I firmly believe that as a joint political unit, the Central African states must develop together through a single entity, and for that, there comes the necessity for certain measures of integration, which is why our foreign ministry and the UEPC even concluded our diplomatic treaty for CANTSO-E. This is why the DRC will be completely funding this new project, under the solidarity of a united Africa, for the alleviation of economic burdens of the other member states, for our united diplomatic standing. We are going to be planning, in the near future, to establish new solar parks in the UEPC member states in the following years, funded through joint programs, and worked together upon through joint development companies.”
