Matteo Salvini's Extravagance
You can learn to be someone like me!
Matteo Salvini was in Naples where his summer home now was. It was Spring for Italy and the country was in Renaissance. All of the country's 470,000 Middle-Eastern refugees from 2011 to 2023 were now safely in Algeria and actually, surprisingly enough, crime rates seemed to have lowered. It was the President's Party, League's biggest achievements. There was still more to do.
President Matteo Salvini sat on his balcony view as he enjoyed some wine to enjoy the cool brunch-breeze, the only thing on the small table was a folder and the single glass of wine along with its respective bottle. After a few minutes, he was joined by a suited man who sat down at the empty seat across from him. Fifty feet surrounding them and all over the estate were dozens of armed guards, securing them.
"Surprised you made it," Matteo said as he struck out a cigarette, lighting it up.
"Yea? No shit." The man said, taking the folder. He opened it up and flipped through its contents. Matteo rested the cigarette closer in between his index and middle fingers. "Press could be watching, you know... take a nice and good picture of the two of us." He took a drag on the cigarette while this suited stranger continued to flip through.
"Mmm." He finally chirped, disinterested in the conversation. "Arrest them."
The President looked over, raising an eyebrow. "What?"
"You heard me, arrest those fuckers."
There was a quiet pause between the two as the air grew heavier - more uncomfortable. "W-... well, uhm..." Matteo stumbled in his words, leaning forward as he tried to understand what was going on. "Weren't you going to... blackmail them or something?" The suited man turned, raising an eyebrow. "What? The fuck are you talking about?" "I-... I thought that was part of the deal..." He continued.
The suited man shook his head, placing the folder into his suit flaps to zip it up, hiding it rather well. "The deal is whatever the fuck we make-" Matteo tried to interrupt him. "Get this through your head you Jew motherfucker you. You only exist out here because of us, without us, you, PERSONALLY, every fucking wise guy around will take a piece of your JEW ASS. You're fucking warned, don't ever assume our dealings. We got you into this office, we can get you the fuck out of it." Matteo Salvini straightened his posture.
"You can't talk to me that way anymo-" immediately, the President was slapped across the face. His cigarette flew over the balcony's railings and down into the rocky drop below. "Huh? WHAT? What happened to the tough guy telling me to shove it up my fucking ass?"
Around the estate, the security services to the President remained where they were. Those nearest to the balcony looked away at this point.
"You keep this shit up, you'll have some fucking problems." The suited man stood up as Matteo Salvini sat there in shock. Now, enjoying the spring breeze didn't feel so good. Once the suited man was escorted off of the estate, he made a phone call. "Yes, I have some uh... anonymous evidence sent to me, I have some more men that need to be arrested."
Across the Country, Agrigento Sicily
Members of the Stidda Crime Family were meeting one another outside of an estate. Most were wearing suits and had just walked out from the audience stands in a courtroom where a fellow mobster was being charged for attempted murder on a government official. It was small-time, a member of the Stidda's, a loosely and rather independent organization at its heart, had attempted to kill the city treasurer for allegedly hitting the mobster's sister. The two had been dating for several months but at this point, the case was going nowhere.
No witnesses took to the stand that outright stated that with unreasonable doubt they could say that it was this man who tried to shoot the treasurer and what they did have was circumstantial. So, they let him go.
The treasurer's life wasn't in danger anymore, after all the message had gotten through to him. The group, all in their best suits were still outside of the estate and just about to head in before they heard sirens rapidly approaching.
"Ah, fuck, not again." They said as a few of them dumped their blades and other contraband items into the bushes as they jogged away, heading towards the gates to meet the police. They knew most of the local cops so anything out of the ordinary would be "taken care of." Without warning, the gate was forced ajar by an APC's battery ram as dozens of armed police disembarked. They went all over the estate, detaining and arresting family members, vineyard workers and everything with ties to the Stidda Syndicates.
All over the province, they were rounded up and arrested with several dozen being arrested all over Italy.
La Cosa Nostra immediately moved into their place, taking hold of their businesses, their enterprises and their general assets where ever they could. The police were bribed by people that could pay more than Stiddas alone could. There were even some members of La Cosa Nostra who were members of Stidda but within the next few weeks, they found their ends.
**Mob violence in Italy has escalated. A new mob war has just begun, started by police action against the Stidda Crime Family. Now, the Camorras, 'Ndrangheta's and La Cosa Nostra are in an all-out brawl against each other, vying for control over the Stiddas lost territory.
The country was entering a very dark period.
