The government budget and therefore its funding is in line with the new philosophy of the Tuilaepa government, which is to develop the still growing Samoan tech sector while removing funding from the defence sector (Due to Samoa having no army and relying on its regional partners for help). Energy and Healthcare have also received small increases in funding part due to the recent outbreaks of mosquito-borne diseases and the struggle to cope with them under the previous medical budget.
