General Wilson Mbadi Arrives In Cairo To Discuss Defense Matters
[Private]
We offer President Al-Sisi and the other representatives of the Egyptian government the warmest of greetings. We only wish it could be under better circumstances.
As you surely know by now, Sudan is presently in the throes of civil conflict between the ruthless, genocidal Rapid Support Forces and the legitimate government and armed forces. While the army looks likely to prevail, it may prove a difficult struggle. We would love to offer our assistance, but given our lack of fiscal resources and the chaos ongoing in South Sudan, CAR and DRC--not to mention other issues like the refugee crisis--what military aid we can provide is relatively minimal.
That being said, we see an opportunity to work together on a particular opportunity that this chaos has opened. Somewhere in the remote area of Kafia Kingi lies a certain Joseph Kony, commander of the Lord's Resistance Army, one of the most notorious terrorists in African and indeed world history, and public enemy number one in Uganda. He has been sheltered there by Omar al-Bashir and today the RSF. The chaos created by the conflict, along with the isolation of the RSF from conventional military forces, has resulted in us beginning to plan an ambitious operation to deploy the elite Ugandan Special Forces into Kafia Kingi to kill Joseph Kony. Previously written off as an insignificant threat not worth disturbing Sudan over, we feel that this chance to deal with him once and for all shouldn't be wasted, especially given the potential PR coup it would hand our government.
There is only one problem: How to get here. Kafia Kingi is one of the most remote locations in Africa. Good roads are absent, and in any case lead through South Sudan, which is asking for trouble. Approaching through Chad has been considered, but is not our first choice, not the least because getting to Chad in the first place is... difficult.
Egypt, however, possesses strategic and tactical airlift capabilities, unlike Uganda. It also maintains a much larger air force than Uganda, though we are able to contribute as well with the long range of our Flankers. We believe that by combining our forces, we may be able to hunt down and destroy the Lord's Resistance Army once and for all. And as a bonus, we will cut the border between Sudan and the Central African Republic, which is believed to be a route for weapons to flow from Wagner Group to the RSF.
If the Egyptian military believes such an operation possible, and you judge it politically feasible, we would be delighted to begin planning, preparation and training for it immediately.
