It’s been roughly a year now since I left Grovetown and moved to back home to the Okefenokee swamp. Unfortunately, I’ve had no luck in finding a decent paying job or rental property. Im a single mother of one and my income from child support alone is more than most women make working full time here. Most places for rent are government assisted living or outdated ran down trailers. I’ve worked two clerical positions where I lived near prior—both paying salary of $50K yearly however the same positions here pay $10-15 hourly at only 30-38 hours per week. I’ve considered moving to Brunswick or Fernandina but scared to take the risk or move my child again. I love the “simple” life here close to my friends and family but I’m not sure how people survive. Anyone have any advice on employment or renting?
