I'm trying to get wifi set up on my Thinkpad T430 from this guide on the Gentoo forums. Running lspci shows that the kernel driver and kernel module in use is iwlwifi:
03:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Centrino Advanced-N 6205 [Taylor Peak] (rev 34)
Kernel driver in use: iwlwifi
Kernel modules: iwlwifi
I've gotten the ethernet to work using Gentoo forums but I don't know how to connect to wifi. The /lib/firmware folder shows that the correct driver along with about 30 other iwlwifi drivers was installed for this intel network controller, "iwlwifi-6000g2a-6.ucode".
I've tried emerging WPA supplicant and networkmanager through a chroot in ubuntu, but they fail after emerging a couple of packages. How can I get connected to wifi so I don't have to keep chrooting off of an ubuntu USB?
