Hello lovely people, first time Gentoo (and Linux) user here.

I’ve followed the handbook to the best of my ability to install on an old Intel iMac – and it’s now booting! I’m using systemd and the only internet connection available to me is WiFi.

Unfortunately in the booted environment I’m having trouble getting the WiFi to connect properly, I think due to a DNS issue. I can ping 8.8.8.8 but if I ping google.com I get “Name or service not known”.

What confuses me is I added dhcpcd to the startup items and even if I kill that process and run “dhcpcd wlp3s0” (which is my WiFi socket) I still get the same error. (The liveCD environment worked perfectly with just “net-setup”.)

I’ve tried reading the wiki and handbook but not had any luck understanding what the issue might be. Any pointers?
