Naku weed in basket

So I did the quest where you leave Naku weed in the basket for the pharmacist, after the 1st day I got an Exquisite chest, after my second offering I got nothing (came back next day) and the weed was still in the basket, then on the next day I was sent off to find the notes. I thought I was supposed to get 3 exquisite chest but I have only received 1. Did I do something wrong or is this some weird glitch?
