Happy One Million Members!
From the r/Genshin_Impact Mod Team to you, we congratulate everyone for reaching ONE MILLION members! I'd say it was a long time coming, but... was it really? Let's take a look, shall we?:
- Since the game's launch back at the end of September 2020, the subreddit exploded, and it
onlytook us approximately 9 months to reach this milestone! - We average somewhere in the ballpark of 2,000 to 2,200 new members joining us daily!
- We've broken the Top 500 in total members across the entirety of Reddit!
- Even though we've only just reached one million members, we're around 25th in comments per day and around 35th in posts per day.
All data was taken from the subreddit's traffic page as well as the wonderful site subredditstats.com, and of course are rough estimates. Regardless, hitting one million members is no easy feat, and for that, we've prepared a few things for you!
1. r/Genshin_Impact's One Million Members Banner Contest!
For all of you artists out there (we know there's a lot), we'll be holding our very first Banner Contest! In short, you will be able to submit artwork that will replace the current banners across all of the ways you can access the r/Genshin_Impact (Old Reddit, New/Redesign Reddit, Mobile App, etc.) for everyone to see!
For more information and the specifics, please head on over to the One Million Members Banner Contest Submissions Megathread.
2. One Million Members Quiz
Just so that everyone can have a little bit of fun, I've put together a quiz that everyone can participate in!
Head on over to the One Million Members Quiz Megathread to view and discuss anything and everything about it.
3. r/Genshin_Impact Quality of Life Updates
There's a few things around r/Genshin_Impact that could use a bit of tweaking and cleaning up, prominently in the Rules and Flairs department. In the near future, we're going to be addressing and revamping a few things, such as:
The Rules in general will be re-evaluated and organized to be more coherent and concise.
To piggy-back off of adjusting the Rules, we'll also be taking a look at the general functionality of Flairs, and make tweaks where we need to.
All of this information will be compiled and more discretely explained in the subreddit's Wiki. Here, we'll provide more in-depth explanations of the Rules compared to the sidebar. Also in the Wiki, we'll introduce a Flair Guide so that users may flair their posts more appropriately.
Wehope.Lastly, we'll be starting up another round of Moderator recruitment in the near future. If you're interested, stay tuned.
This isn't all that we're planning, but while all of this may not seem particularly exciting, it needs to be done to provide more structure and organization to the subreddit.
That'll just about do it! Head on over to the respective Megathreads to participate in the aforementioned events, and we'll get back to all of you after we've gone over and finalized all of the Quality of Life updates that we plan on making. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, feel free to leave them in the comments.
At the time of us hitting this milestone, Genshin Impact isn't even a year old yet. I'm sure there will be a lot of exciting things coming to the game in the future, and the community will grow even larger. We thank everyone for being a part of this community, and here's to us continuing to grow together!
