What if you had to build *against* certain characters rather than *for* them? Share your thoughts!

Post Body

If the title sounds confusing - it's because I had a dream about this. I don't see this as an actual game, however I know someone already made a post about something similar here. I'm not a competitive person nor a coder but I wanted to talk about this idea/dream I had rather than forming it into something playable.

This is purely something to discuss and speculate!

Imagine a scenario comparative to Street Fighter/Mortal Kombat (not turn based like the TCG) where you're having to build 1 character to go against another 1 playable character. No duos, no party of 4.
Some questions I had to add to the discussion;

  1. How could this be done by relying on pre-existing content, rather than adding more?
  2. If more content is necessary to figuratively slot this into Genshin, what would you add?
  3. In the alternate timeline (aka not this one) that this were to be added to Genshin, how would you incorporate it? (I.e. akin to playing the TCG at Diona's bar or Spiral Abyss being its own portal/realm).
  4. Would element-resistant sets & potions be more viable here?
  5. How would characters' strength be gauged if not by their ⭐ rating?
  6. And most importantly - what would be your go-to character if you had access to every playable character so far?
