I'm a brand new f2p player, started like 3 days ago. I just got to AR 20, and am in the process of unlocking Stormterror's tower, so you know my quest progress. I know that later in the story/side stuff I will unlock Xiangling, Barbara, and Collei for "free".

However, I hoped to make use of the current banner, and potentially get a better 4 star Main than Kaeya, so I used all my gems to get pink fates, as well as used all my accumulated fates, for about 30 or so banner pulls, and something like 25 standard banner pulls (including the 20 that cost 16, got Jean, shes ok).

I pulled Xiangling, Barbara, Collei, and Bennett. So as the title asks, was I supposed to wait till after I unlocked these characters to pull, or did I just get incredibly unlucky and pull 3 duplicates? Also when I do unlock those characters for free, what will happen?
