Running portable on a 'larger' propane tank?
Post Body

had an earlier post about generator options.....pretty much landing on a portable (14 KW) to be used w propane tank (want something large enough that I'm not constantly replenishing fuel like i have to do my current gasoline powered generator).

So, i started calling propane companies. I've had two say that portables won't work with a tank they offer as the pressure is not great enough.

My neighbor has this exact setup (500 gallon buried connected to a Westinghouse 11K portable) so this really is confusing me.

Any truth to what the 2 propane companies are saying? why would it be any different than connecting the generator to a 5 gallon standard bbq tank?

much appreciated.
