Post Body
For me, it's the mid-to-late 90s music. By then, I had little kids and was only sporadically listening to popular music at home or in the car. I stopped paying attention to Nirvana and Pearl Jam after their first albums. There are songs from that era I recognize, but I couldn't tell you who performed them. Conversely, I can probably identify the artist and title of 80s one-hit wonders by about 2 seconds into the song.

I like Nirvana, but I don't love them. But they definitely did not invent grunge like some people seem to think. There were grunge bands before them-they just put it in the mainstream.
