I am reading a marriage entry from 1786, San Luis Potosi, my 5G grandparents. The bride is noted as 'mulata libre' and 'orig.a deste otro valle, enel sedral'. Later in the entry, the 'P.P.' (help?) are Jph Rafel E Luera, Maria Aita, yndios del sedral'.

I am struggling with what 'del sedral' means. Ancestry gave me the hint that my g-grandmother was born in Nuevo Leon, but that's a long way from San Luis Potosi; however it could explain the 'deste otro valle' part, right?

Anyone know what the 'del sedral/enel sedral' means? I am just trying to confirm that the birth record in NL is actually my g-grandmother and not another Maria Balentina Maldanado.

Oh, also, would it make sense that there was a baptismal record for her if they were truly 'indios/mulato', i.e. indigenous people?
