Hi, I’ve recently started digging to learn more about my family history and am hoping someone can help me here.

I’ve been able to find my family in another public tree but their last name is a variation of my grandfather’s name (on mother’s side). I cannot see how we fit into their tree but that tree has 60k names in it so assuming that we’ve perhaps spun off somewhere, possibly a second marriage or something.

What’s the fastest way to figure out how someone from my family fits into someone else’s tree? I’ve found several public trees with various names that belong on my tree but I cannot for the life of figure out how they fall into place on their trees.
