Hi! so before I get into all of this, I just wanted to thank everyone for all of their help last time breaking the brick wall regarding my 5th great grandmother.
I have put it together that my 4th great grandmother Emma Speidel was sent to live with her mother's sister ( and her sister's husband) when her mother passed away a few months after she was born.
Her aunt and uncle's names where Jacob and Christena Pool. They lived in Grand Haven, Michigan from at least 1870 to the 1880s.
In the 1870 census record, their home included 4-year-old Emma and her 10-year-old sister Julia.
In the census record from 1880, their home included Emma and another child named Wallace. Both were going by the last name Pool and both were listed as niece and nephew. Julia is gone at this point because she was married.
I'm about 99% sure that Wallace is not Emma's brother as she was the youngest of her family and her only brother from her bio mother was older than her and named Louis.
But I can't find Wallace on any other records after 1880 or on any records before that. He seems to have just disappeared after 1880.
He was also listed as white in 1880 while Emma and her aunt Christena were listed as Indian so I was thinking he was the child of one of Jacobs's siblings, but I still can't find the connection.
Does anyone know where Wallace could have come from?
