Hey there, Reddit ninjas!

I am coming to you with an interesting (scandalous? Whew, whew! ;P just kidding haha!) scenario that many of you have similarly come across yourselves or have heard from others:

Turns out, that the people that I THOUGHT were my paternal grandfather's parents (as told to me by my grandmother), the people who raised him, actually WEREN'T his biological parents! They were ACTUALLY his grandparents! One of their daughters had a child at 17, unmarried. They raised her, their other children, and my grandfather, all as their own. (I didn't find any of this out until AFTER both paternal grandparents passed away).

So...On his birth certificate his grandparents are actually listed as his parents. And then there is a document from years later when their daughter IS actually married, that they petition for adoption (that ends up being granted for starting at his birth). So, that gave us the name of my grandfather's actual, biological mother. HOWEVER, there is no definitive link to the father.

Which is what brings me here today.

I realize that it is a long shot and won't be easy, BUT I'm curious if anyone has been in similar scenarios and been able to end up finding the missing person? (the biological father, in this case). OR, do any of you have suggestions on how we might be able to piece it together?

It would be really cool to see his paternal lineage! So, as always, thank you superstars for sharing your helpful tips and advice. <3 Hope you have a good day!
