Ok, I’ve already figured out how you basically have to relearn how to sing if you start T because you are working with a different octave, but for those of you who are singers and are on T, I have more questions.
how long did it take you to reach the same skill level you were at before you started T?
how difficult was learning? Did you learn on your own or have any voice coaching and how did that help/hurt you?
if you rely on your voice for your career, how much do you feel starting T held you back?
did you have issues with auditions in anyway? Like if the casting director or judge knew you were trans, etc.
finally, I am in high school choir and it is my dream to at least spend one year in our top group before I graduate and audition for college show choir. From your experience, when do you think it would be best for me to start T? Would I be okay now, or should I wait until I get into the bigger high school group, or even after college? It may be important to note that my director is incredibly supportive of me being trans and has gone out of his way to make sure I can be in the group happily and comfortably, but my ability level is still important
