How many of you are cordial with your exes?
So about 6 months ago, I got out of a pretty serious relationship which lasted for almost 2 years, we're both 19. We lived in the same country but stayed in different provinces, so I guess it was long distance, although once a month I'd take a shuttle to his house and stay there for 2-3 weeks. It was a pretty important and some might say 'unique' relationship because of how well we got along, how involved we were in eachothers' lives, and also the fact that it was an interracial relationship. Now obviously we didn't get along pretty well during the last weeks of our relationship which led to us splitting up. After the breakup, my world was practically flipped and I had to regain balance on my own again. The process was not easy but eventually I managed and am still managing. So when we broke up, we didn't talk to eachother for 5 months; now recently we've started talking again as cordial friends. I've moved on from him and long accepted that we just didn't fit anymore, whereas he also had accepted that but the more we would talk the more he would admit that he stilled liked me. Every individual goes through a breakup differently so I listened to why it is he felt that way, because part of the reason we split up is because he became cold towards me and shut me out, then after the breakup made a YouTube video ranting about the problems in our relationship (in the thumbnail of that video he placed a photo of me which I did not consent to). After our parents talked to one another, he removed the thumbnail. I'm thinking it was a mistake to get back into eachothers lives again because it feels like I'm confusing him or something. So, how many of you are friends with, or cordial with an ex?
