If immutable characteristics are ought not be stereotyped against especially in a negative way, why do gen zers criticize an entire generation, the boomers, so liberally?

I'm pretty damn sure this will be unpopular but I heard many people in my generation say things like, because this is my experience and this is my anecdote. Isn't that the same rhetoric racists use? Or is it ok to generalize when your target is enough of an oppressor?
