this is for all the gen z's about to or currently trying to enter the work force.

im not sure about your country, but where I'm from the economy is so shit, and I don't think i'm gonna be able to find a job after university for a while.

a little backstory: i'm in my senior year at university taking up music production and audio engineering, and for our final requirement we're tasked to intern for a company. I've submitted about 20 applications for internships, and all the responses I've got back, if any at all, were that they haven't been hiring interns since the pandemic started, or that they are currently in a hiring freeze, probably due to a lack of clientele.

I'm also moved out from my parents, but fortunately, I'm lucky enough to be managing some of our family properties, and I get some passive income for helping out, but still, I don't view that income as anything for me to brag or be proud about, as it didn't really come from my own blood sweat and tears from my career.

I'm a really big planner and overthinker, and ever since I was about 13 I've been trying to plan out my future goals and the steps I need to attain them. I'm constantly also self-checking to see if my career is growing at the pace I expect, and it's depressing that no matter what I do, I can only control so much.

The state of many industries across the globe has put a monkey wrench in a lot of people's plans, and it just sucks having my ground zero begin at a time when the entire world is mostly still in recession. I feel like I'm gonna end up a fucking failure, and there's nothing I can do about it.
