The Boy Scouts were a huge part of my life until I was 16. Loved every minute of it!
Let's have a Boy Scouts roll call...
Troop 646 in San Marcos, California.
Wtf! I have never heard such a thing. I'm so sorry that happened to you.
Eagle Scout here too. I don't know where I'd be now without the scouting program. Through my troop, summer camp staff and my OA lodge it gave me leadership skills, advancement opportunities, challenges to overcome, public speaking experience, friends to hang out with around the campfire or to meadowcrash with. Some of my warmest memories are of times spent on scouting trips. It helped me find confidence, self-sufficiency and a fondness for community service. Also lost my virginity on a boy scout-girl scout camping trip but that's probably suitable for a different thread.
I built a firepit in our backyard garden last year and smelling the woodsmoke takes me back 35 years with really pleasant memories to those experiences.
Excellent story! I have to agree with you. There was so much I gained from scouting too.
That's really great to hear. Keep doing what you're doing.
Eagle is a huge accomplishment! Congrats.
Hey, you're scouting now and helping the future generation. Your effort is greatly appreciated!
Excellent reply. Scoutimg really helped to shape who I have become. The new protocols absolutely turn me off but I understand that in these times it was an unavoidable change that had to take place.
Thank you for your service in keeping the tradition alive!
I understand. It seems like a common story among gen x. I was lucky because my dad paid child support and that money went for scouts.

Thank you for supporting your sons in their scouting journey.
Ohio in the house! Once an Eagle scout always an Eagle scout.
Congrats on your Eagle! Wisconsin in the house!
LoL, yes you are correct about the sausage fest. Also, it really isn't "cool" to be a scout in high school
Haha!! How can a grunge band be terrible? Even to make first class is still an achievement even if it only prepared you for the apocolypse.
Thank you for your service and hello from Groton, ct!
Ahh, I'm sorry to hear that. At least you tried.
You definitely sound like a scout! Lmao..
You can become a scout master. The more adults the better.
Yes!! I love to hear that scouting is still alive.
I wonder about the same thing. There was no way girls could have been in my troop because we were just to rowdy.
Excellent! So happy to hear you chose to become a scout master. Such an important responsibility.

Yes!! Good for you! I should have included the ladies too. My apologies.
