Pony up Gen'Xer's. Let's see some of the sayings that our parents used to put us in our place.
Perhaps you have accidently used some of these yourself when talking to your kids.....
Let it roll...
OMFG!.. how many times I have heard that crap. Thats why I moved out at 16.
Right! And all you asked for was a pack of gum or a candy bar.
Or "one day you'll have kids of your own..."
Oh don't get it twisted. I was a latch key too.
Oh yes, how could we forget this one.
Wow.. thats just not right. I'm sorry my friend.
This is so good!! I totally forgot about this. My mom said this all the time.
Ugh..I'm sorry your mom was so harsh. You're not alone though!
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣...excellent!
Didn't you hate that. Fucking guilt trips!
LoL...I often took the consequences too. I reached a point when I was bigger than my mom. The beatings stopped but the restriction started.
LoL. Good way to turn it into a positive.
I'm glad it didn't traumatize you. You seem to have grown up to be a cool person.
Ohhh that hurts just thinking of the context of this one.
This one always burned me too. I saw red when my mom would say that to me!
Hey, you gotta be you. I'm not judging.
What!! I have never heard this. May i borrow it?
Hmmm...this one actually has me thinking..
LoL...You're right. Not me. I always pushed my socks down.
