My dad was a business type guy in a lot of ways. And he had seven kids. And one of the ways he tried to stay in touch with all of us in the days of landlines was to have a 1-800 number that dialed to his house. For some reason I just remembered all this. It’s kind of cool now that I think about it. I only wish I’d used it more over the years. Anyway…anyone else’s parents have any interesting ways to stay connected in the days before smartphones?
My aunt had one for a few years I never called it, but it was cheaper than calling her sister long distance, after that she started using all the 1010 numbers

I think it was only offered for a 5-10 year period in the late 80s early 90s. By the time the calling cards became popular they were a cheaper way.
