There is one thing many post Gen-X kids will not get, unless they were in Catholic or some private schools and thatās the concept of corporal punishment.
How many people have a bottom lucky enough to have met the āBoard of Educationā at school? If so, what did you do that resulted in a whooping, how many swats, what was the board like and how long was it before you could sit down again?
Our elementary school principal had a corner glass windowed office, where he had leaned a four foot tall paddle with holes drilled in it painted with the words āBoard of Educationā on one side and a circular target painted at the sweet spot on the other. Whenever we went to the gym for PE, we would see it. Some kids whoād met it, would subconsciously put their hands over their butt cheeks as they walked past.
In my elementary, if you were bad enough you had the choice of temporary expulsion or receiving a paddling at an assembly with the whole school in attendance. Only ever experienced that once, and tryin to stifle the urge to laughā¦the struggle was real.
