I’m a 1965 baby and I’m pretty content with my lot (certainly very glad I am a GenXr) but to me the absolute ideal GenX timeline would be:
70s born
an 80s childhood - all the freedom of the 70s but with all those cool toys! More arcade games! Commodore 64s! And fun TV shows and movies like Neverending Story, Knight Rider, Jem, He Man, and Gremlins etc. and VCRs!
living in the 90s as a teen/young person to fully immerse and experience the amazing music scene and the emergence of internet culture as a younger person. I was 24 by the time the 90s hit, while that’s certainly not old, not in the full idealistic bloom of youth either so I was somewhat distracted by work, a mortgage and other adult responsibilities.
What’s your ideal timeline? :)
80's childhood and being a teen in the 90's was the best of times.
