TL;DR: Should I buy an ethernet cord/adaptor to play GFN on my macbook or would it not help because GFN servers in Europe are being smashed?
Hi Everyone! I hope you are all well and are keeping safe and sound during these difficult times.
So I started using Geforce Now around the 20th of March when we moved in with my mother in law, to keep her company and help out when her husband is at work. I unfortunately had to leave my beloved PC at my old place hence why I wanted to try this out to get my gaming fix.
First it seemed to work great, only occasional lag spikes and moments of bad connection, but after the start of April it got worse, with the screen becoming pixelated and stuttering for half a minute at a time. Now it will pretty much always be running like that. I don’t know what changed but I’ve tried most solutions I’ve found on this sub for GFN settings.
Now I should mention that I am on a 2.4GHz wifi, in an apartment building surrounded by other wifi signals, and share the wifi with 3 other people’s phones and devices. So naturally my next plan was to buy an ethernet cord an adaptor for my macbook, but the adaptor alone is €35 which is no chump change in the current climate. I have seen others post and say their connection is crap even with ethernet, so I’m worried to spend that money and not get any improvement.
Does anyone have any insight? Is there anyone from Spain/Southwest EU that can confirm they have a good experience with ethernet? I can only hope it isn’t ISP related and Movistar isn’t screwing me over haha...
Thanks very much in advance and take care!
