I know Cory just made a forum post explaining a few things, which I appreciate that they've finally acknowledged our issues. But to sum up it's basically: We can't do anything about losing games and can't tell you any details. And we listen to feedback even though it seems like we don't
But even with that the service keeps getting worse. I wasn't so surprised when AAA games were being removed but now even some Indie titles are disappearing, no more unsupported game downloads, waiting for rig or service status errors seem to be increasing, and no information regarding GFN at CES 2020.
Eventually it may just be a service where you can play the least contested licensed games that every single streaming or game pass service offers (e.g Bioshock series, Darksiders series, Arkham series, etc.)
I'm getting the impression that Nvidia are exhausted from trying to make this work and aren't as gung ho as they once were. I don't blame them, it seems the industry is fighting them tooth and nail and they're completely dependant on the copyrighted materials of others.
It's kind of like if Netflix never decided to make original content and only stuck to streaming other network's shows. They'd be dead in the water now with how much gets pulled to other services.
I'm wondering if Nvidia may even be planning to just sell the research and technology to another company and never release GFN as a paid product. It wouldn't be the worst business move to recuperate losses.
This is all speculation on my part of course.
