Does anyone else find it weird that lavendergate is pointing back to Betty?

so if the Betty explanation was Taylor’s way of trying to make it seem like Betty wasn’t gay and wasn’t from her perspective, and wasn’t about Karlie, why is she referencing to a main character (Don/Taylor) being infatuated with a model named Elizabeth/Betty and wanting to marry her?

If bettygate was meant to put all the rumors to rest about Betty being from Taylor’s perspective about Karlie, then why bring it up again? It was thoroughly put to rest, and now there are even more queer references to Betty.

The math isn’t mathing.
