I live in rural West Virginia where I taught music in the county public schools for 35 years. I have felt out of place my whole life, but circumstances kept me here in West Virginia, the Mountain State. At this point in my life I own my house, I am not prepared to move out of state. The typical man in the state is into outdoors activities and team sports. Whereas I enjoy Culture events such as symphony concerts, opera, ballet, Broadway musicals and plays, historical sites such as battlefields, forts, restored towns (ex. Colonial Williamsburg), touring 19th century houses, visiting a variety of museums, galleries, conservatories, photographing cemetery art in Victorian Museums and playing classical music in small ensembles with friends on a regular basis. This is who I am. Finding local area men ( gay or straight) for friendship and possible relationship, that enjoy one or more of my interests, is quite difficult. Yet we all have life's challenges to face and conquer. Having a companion (20-40s) who is an excellent driver who can navigate larger cities with little to no problems would be an excellent attribute.
