Elyian's Story

Elves of the land of Rymilia are rather notoriously isolationist. Their borders remain closed to all travelers which rare exceptions for trade and the idea of a nation-state receiving an ambassador from one such elven kingdom is utterly alien. Nonetheless, one such kingdom, Ymellia, has been persuaded to send one such ambassador to the neighboring kingdom of Talom after a series of border disputes and failed trade endeavors made it something of a necessity. That, and Elyian suggested it.

Unlike most elves Elyian is rather curious about outsiders and the prospect of living in the outside world— unthinkable to most of his kin. Being a Prince his suggestion held some sway, yet being the 10th in line to throne meant there was no particular risk to the lineage of Kings should he be sent to Talom to fulfill his own proposal. And sent I was, all five and a half feet of me, my lithe figure hardly built for the road even considering the trip was none too long.

I was greeted with open arms, the only elf in the capital city of Telom bearing the same name, set up in the recently vacated quarters of a statesman, a wing of a larger palace, as the official Ymellian Ambassador’s quarters. Before I settled in I began receiving visitors, some of those with genuine appeals, merchants and politicians, others who had wriggled their way onto the list through coin or cashing in favors just to get a glimpse of Telom’s new local elf. But this revolving door of calls ended up lasting. I found myself infatuated with all sorts of people who came through my doors or took me to dinners, showed me around the city and surrounding villas, insisted upon my company. Humans, orcs, goblins, trolls, reptilians, wolf-men, kobolds, and plenty more came through my doors. Concerned letters from my kin suggested I take time off after going into detail regarding just how many people I’ve seen but I simply couldn’t. It was all far too infatuating. And plenty of the visitors were amply flirtatious, making the most of their time with me and I with them— though things never escalated beyond the exchange of words.

You know how royals are— the insinuation of sex is playful and tantalizing, the actual deed downright scandalous, even if more innocent rumors did circulate regardless. But when I met you things began to change. The prudeness of elf-kind seemed to melt away and I couldn’t help but surrender my body to yours, far away from home.
