Just had the worst conversation trying to iron out a roleplay ever. Not only did the other person purposefully nitpick and made bold assumptions about my personal life through the lens of messages exchanged about made up characters, but the sudden withdrawal and blocking was so unnecessary. This isn’t the first time I took an rp over to Discord for people to reveal themselves to be the worst kind of people. There is nothing wrong if you don’t have the same goals, style of writing, etc… But to judge someone on pre-conceived notions, to use your ability to write as a vehicle of being rude and mean isn’t it. It’s weird how the most respectful roleplays on this site are smut-focused and short term. Despite the fact that I see post after post where people are begging for literacy and something long lived.

So here's my hot take. Some people that demand long-term and literate are really just looking for someone to write story/porn for them. When you don't live up to their expectations, they blame you. They don't want a partnership, they want a servant.
When it's short term, there's no reason for them to criticize you. If they don't like it, the session will end and they'll find a new partner.
