Advice needed. Diagnosed with gastritis. Should I take Betaine HCL? Change my diet? Can I heal?
Post Body

So, I'm confused. It seems that sometimes these kinds of gastric problems can actually be caused by too little stomach acid. However, with gastritis the acid actually is eroding your stomach lining. The doc put me on dexilant, however I'm really reluctant to use it as without stomach acid you're more prone to getting infections and you can't absorb other vitamins and nutrients as well. On top of this, I don't want the nausea. So, for anyone that has a lot of experience in this area, would you say I should avoid the dexilant and just change my diet, adding things like honey, green tea and ginger?

I suspect a big trigger was stress after my mum died. I had an endoscopy and biopsy recently. It's light gastritis, without the presence of H. Pylori. I've had the symptoms for years so I guess it's chronic. Has anyone had experience in healing their gastritis? How did you do it? I appreciate your thoughts as I HATE PPIs and want to go as natural as possible in my healing
