Two years of chronic gastritis and now diagnosed with Barrett’s.
Post Body

Hello all, I am 27 M. As the title says, I was diagnosed with chronic gastritis in July 2018. I had another endoscopy in February this year. The biopsy said squamocolumnar junctional mucosa with reflux esophagitis and intestinal metaplasia at GEJ. Negative for dysplasia or Malignancy. My doctor said I have very early signs of Barrett’s and that it could still get better. However I have been too stressed since then and I have a feeling I have made it worse.

I am kind of losing my mind over this. I don’t know how to calm myself down with this diagnosis in mind. Can anyone advise? What kind of life am I looking at. I have looked up treatments like ablation and stuff. Does it work? I live away from my family in a different country and haven’t told them about this.

Currently I am on a strict diet trying to alleviate any burning sensation. At the same time I just feel like everything I do is vain now.
