Will I ever go back to eating and drinking like normal?

My case is pretty mild, only burping and occasional vomiting (which I haven't done since starting the bland diet a week and a half ago, and for a week before that as well). Is three months a reasonable time to heal with the diet and all the meds I’m on? I hate this diet so much. I want to eat out with my friends and have a beer (usually lots of beers which probably didn’t help)
