About two weeks ago I went to see a doctor because of continuous pain in my stomach. He diagnosed me with acute gastrisis and asked me to take Omeparzol 40mg once daily. He didn't say much about my diet and simply asked me to avoid fast food.
I kept having minor pain on and off but it was a bit less than what I was having before taking the medication. Yesterday evening, minor pain in my stomach and lower back was there and then I made some rice and lentils for dinner which I had around 9pm. After that, I had the most severe gastrisis attack which kept me up in agony all night long.
I tried drinking some tea and milk, I even walked around and did some yoga, but nothing brought relief. At some point early in the morning I decided to walk into the emergency room when I could not take it anymore.
The doctor there did an ultrasound and took some blood samples and confirmed that everything was okay and it is indeed a gastrisis attack. He switched me up to Pantaprazole 40mg twice a day and asked me to follow a bland diet.
While I was at the hospital, I ate nothing the whole day and eventually my pain went away. I just got back home and had yogurt and bread and a few minutes after that my pain is back :(
I am still new to this but already losing my mind with this sharp pain in my belly all the time. I don't know if I should just trust the medication and wait it out or keep running back to my doctor in the hopes that something changes.
This ended up being more of a rant, but if you're reading this and have any tips or advice that would be much appreciated.
