Anyone have black or red stools even when on a PPI?

I got diagnosed with gerd & chronic gastritis in 2021 through endoscopy. Didn’t take any medication until the end of 2022. Doctor told me to take Pantoprazole for 8 weeks. I did & stopped. Then I had to go back on Pantoprazole last month after I noticed black / red in my stools. Doctor says no hemorrhoids or fissures. So now I await a GI doctor referred. The black stools have been hit or miss. They’ve been mixed in with brown stool. Still has been alarming & yes , the occult blood test was positive. I’m tired of all of this, you guys.

Has anyone had blood in their stool that wasn’t hemorrhoids?
