I have a VFC Kimber LAPD SWAT 1911 that I purchased brand new recently and it lasted me 5 magazines worth of bbs (100 rds) before it stopped returning to battery no matter how fresh the green gas was in the magazine. When looking into the breech from the top, the nozzle is canted towards the right side of the ejection port coming to rest on the bb retaining clip at the top of the magazine. If I manually realign the nozzle and push the slide forward, it'll seat, it will fire and fail to come completely back to battery again.

I'm going to try and disassemble it to see if anything is broken or loose. But I have several questions before I do so.

What should I be looking for? Is this a common thing with green gas blow back pistols? And while I have it apart, and I were to say screw it and upgrade everything internally that I can on the slide, what is out there to hotrod this replica out? I see a lot of upgrades for the TM 1911s but this one is a different design from what I see.
